Job description
We’re looking for an organized, detail-driven Organic Certification Coordinator to guide farmers and partner organizations through the complex, high-stakes process of achieving and maintaining organic certification. This role ensures full compliance with organic standards — from documentation and field audits to training and reporting — while supporting our larger mission of sustainable, transparent agriculture.
Key responsibilities:
Guide farms, cooperatives, and project partners through local and international organic certification processes (e.g. USDA, EU, IFOAM)
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of certification standards, documentation, and regulatory changes
Coordinate inspections, prepare documentation, and manage timelines for new and renewal certifications
Train field teams and farmers on organic practices, recordkeeping, and audit readiness
Liaise with certifying bodies, inspectors, and internal departments during application and review processes
Monitor ongoing compliance and provide corrective action support where needed
Track and report on certification status, renewal cycles, and non-compliance issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field
2+ years experience working with organic certification, sustainable farming, or regulatory compliance
Deep understanding of organic agriculture principles and certification frameworks
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Strong communication skills to work with both field-level teams and certifying agencies
Ability to manage multiple certifications across regions
Familiarity with digital compliance platforms or agricultural recordkeeping tools is a plus
Willingness to travel for site inspections, trainings, and audits
